Sleep
The most dangerous time
Sleep is generally when all defences are down. It is best done when the body is secure in a setting where it feels most comfortable. This could be a house, with the doors locked, keeping society outside. It could be an apartment, not on the ground floor, somewhere between the second or third floor, as high as the top floor of a skyscraper. Of course, I am thinking of the human population. All biology sleeps. Sleeping and eating sustain any creature, including humans. Most prefer to have a sentry to act as a partner in life. A person or beast can feel quite safe on their own in many scenarios; a family group provides security and safety for so many others.

Why do we sleep?
Sleep gives the body a chance to recover from the day before. Injuries and illnesses are helped to be overcome with sleep, at the extreme. It rests the mind and gives it a chance to relive the day’s events to make sense of the confusion of a waking period of time before. When we sleep, we dream to try to understand that confusion, to plan a future and make some sense of the world that the person understands. It does not matter to your body if it’s a short nap during the day or 8 hrs at night. The body rests when it needs it is the important part.
Do we sleep at Handy Circle?
You will never see us sleeping. I’m not saying we do it very often or ever at the office, but fatigue is pretty common in any workspace. A ringing phone in the office for us (250-563-1852) or your Email (hcrspg@gmail.com) arriving will alert us that sleeping on the job isn’t very productive. You might even use our Ring Camera system to visit us. As will coworkers. It happens. If you find yourself napping at work or in your volunteer position, your employer might refer you to get some help at home so you get more sleep there. They may ask about challenges at home. In some cases, it could be grounds for dismissal or just a shorter day or reduced hours in the future. Try not to, unless your employer has a nap room available.
