How do you feel about Artificial Intelligence?
What is it?
Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a computer program that thinks almost like a human. It is lines of code. An application like Grammarly is a popular spell and grammar checker for writers with diverse skills; it is a popular, free and very helpful program. Programs that get ‘smarter’ with use. A lot of assistive technology for persons with afflictions is built with this technology. LiDAR tech on autonomous vehicles and wheelchairs, for example. That all enables use without direct human input.

How can AI help a non-profit organization?
To run a nonprofit and launch successful programs, you must fill several paid positions. Those are a bookkeeper/accountant type service, an office manager if an office-based organization and perhaps an office assistant. You also need a skilled Grant Writer for the best chance of funding success. You may need more staff, but skilled volunteers are hard to find. There are AI applications designed for the nonprofit world, mostly focused on Fundraising. Others can answer questions on aspects of nonprofit promotion; they help design flyers and posters to promote events, help with accounting, and even give advice when needed about many things. Always check the information, though, if you use one of those AI Servers for questions and advice. Canada has adapted policies around widespread industry and Nonprofit use.
What AI does Handy Circle use now?
Here at Handy Circle, we employ programs such as Grammarly and very limited accounting checks. 1/3rd of our staff is against AI use, 1/3rd wants more information, and 1/3rd is fairly familiar with personal use of artificial intelligence. We could do so much more by adapting an AI program for fundraising beyond our Government Grants, I feel. Those come with subscription costs. What would we do if we obtained a hundred-thousand-dollar donation? Can you think of a capital project that would change the city we live in? Perhaps a trip that we could take with our community, to an accessible park or attraction within our Northern Region. So much to change, and all it takes is a donation from you! We accept e-transfers to hcrspg@gmail.com and can provide a tax receipt upon request. We’re also selling cup holders for Mobility Walkers. They’re created by another AI device, the 3D printer. If another design is needed, we would create an individual order for you at no extra cost
