GoFundMe for Handy Circle: donations of any amount are appreciated.
It is with heavy hearts that we ask the community we have supported for almost 30 years for support. We are requesting a donation through GoFundMe… but you are very welcome to send us a donation through email or auto-deposit. Update: May 2026. We got our funding and are underway. We still need your donations for events, programs, and adventure. thank you in advance. Below is a reflection on the event we went through and the means to donate.
Read below;
Handy Circle has been around since 1985 and has been at 490 Quebec Street in Prince George since 1992. We moved from (Founder) Vivienne Candy’s Home, where Handy Circle Resource Society was born. Vivienne was part of the design process to help make the McInnis Lighting storage/paint building into a resource center for organizations. The building was remodelled, and the rest is history. We are the one remaining organization in this building from its construction and design. It is Prince George’s first fully accessible office building. We’ve also directly influenced PG Transit and the City of Prince George’s Advisory Committee on Accessibility and Inclusion. They began with us as the PG Special Needs Accessibility Committee, and grew to Inclusion through 2 name changes. So did we. We were originally ‘Handy Circle Promotion Society’, and now we’re ‘Handy Circle Resource Society’.
Over the years, we’ve hosted entertainment. CANDO, the Loonie Auction and The Christmas Craft Fair. During tax season, we will always do your taxes. We are only asking that you bring in some information, as explained behind this link, to enable us to find the best return for you and your family faster. We will also help persons with provincial and federal support problems, including Revenue Canada, year-round. We’ve helped a few people learn how to operate technology, from computers to cell phones. These services empower our community.
Lately, all this has become difficult for us to do. We are asking for your help on our GoFundMe page. If you have questions about where your money will go, dial our phone at 250-563-1852 and ask so we can answer. We will always be here for you. Even if we have to close our office doors, we are not ready to give up on helping you. If our phone line ever goes down, contact us through email for updated contact info. Donations and contact email are: hcrspg@gmail.com, if you do not want to donate through GoFundMe. You can e-transfer to us through hcrspg@gmail-com. Automatic Deposit: We will get a notice when your donation is accepted. Please add your name and address in the memo area before you push send, and we can send you a tax receipt if you need one. Plus, a thank you from us for any donation.
