Affordible Healthcare in Prince George
What do you consider healthcare?
What do I mean by ‘Affordable Healthcare’? It’s much different when you can afford it. You can go to a gym, but that’s a little unaffordable to many. The best Health Care is Self Care, but only when partnered with a family doctor or Walk In clinic professional staff. Gyms come with diverse pay rates, the most affordable is the Family Y. They are all great for socializing, which is part of a healthy life, but it’s not all of it. Do you lift weights at home, to avoid the gym? Great. They aren’t for everyone. You still have to put out for the equipment, it’s not free. Hey wait. There is a sidewalk out in front! Runners and shorts, it’s a great day to stroll. Is that considered Healthcare? OK you have to wear those items after buying them. Most hospital visits are free in Canada, certainly a family doctor or walk in clinic doctors are ‘free to us’ giving extreme healthcare. We even can can get a virtual doctor!
The Walk
Did you know that simply walking is a form of ‘affordable’ healthcare? Over 100 KM of sidewalk goes around the community. In addition there are several hundred KM more of nature trails. Travel a bit farther into the regional district surrounding the city, and newly developed accessible and inclusive parks exist in BC’s northern Forests. Prince George has several recreational ‘open air’ public recreational areas in diverse areas, for community health and wellbeing within walking, rolling distance from most homes. A walk in nature could save you lots in therapy bills.
