Introduction

Before 2020, The City of Prince George adapted an App. It was available to download to any mobile communication device. The app communicated with the City’s services department. In 2023, the ‘think tank’ began developing that app. The ‘think tank’ created the City Sourced program in 2024. There are 3 ways to report any issue that prevents your inclusive participation in Prince George life outside your home. Are there any animals, needles, or garbage, on the sidewalk or in your yard? Potholes? Chickens, or other animals, feral or otherwise, invading your space? Graffiti? Feces, animal or human, on sidewalks? Broken and inaccessible sidewalks too. Crimes like vandalism and the damage caused? If it is happening, call 911 right away. Report the damage to the city if it occurs in public areas or city infrastructure. Do this if you think the city can handle it in private areas. The 3 ways are by calling 311 from any local phone, emailing 311@princegeorge.ca. You can visit the front counter. It is located at the City of Prince George city hall, 1100 Patricia Boulevard, Prince George, BC V2L 3V9. An old school phone number exists as well as a fax line too.

Do you see areas like this in your travels? You are the eyes of the city of Prince George. Let them know about issues like this. Anything preventing anyone, including you, from leading an inclusive and accessible life in Prince George can be included. Read the post to find out how!
In 2024, the City of Prince George, British Columbia improved their communication tools. Download the App onto your favorite mobile device or multiple devices. Alternatively, if you are without a device, you might be using the services of the library. There are two libraries in Prince George. They give public internet access. This is in a setting formerly known as a Computer Access Point or CAP site. With the creation of a new page on their website, Prince George acknowledges the population without internet access. They realize that not everyone can connect online. Reports can be made via the service desk at City Hall, 1100 Patrica Blvd, 250-561-7600.
Thank you, City of Prince George. This ramp has been affected by water erosion ever since it was installed. It was probably installed in the late 90s when the building at 490 Quebec St was new.
It will not be long before pedestrian traffic will flow smoothly along Quebec Street along the 400 block. on the south sidewalk.
Someone had removed the pedestrian flagging tape on 28 August. This discouraged pedestrians from traveling along the south side on the 400 block of Quebec St.

Volunteer PG (https://volunteerpg.com/), the Carefree Transportation Society (the site is evolving and should be HTTPS soon, risk it at http//carefreesociety.org/). I also manage my own website at https://walknroll.info/. Give it a follow on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pgwalknroll/). Onward. This site will be changing thanks to Handy Circle's Lorraine Young, myself and Steph's blogging.
