As the summer of 2024 happens, perhaps you’re looking for something to do. Do you know how Kopar Administration, WorkBC and the Canadian Vocational Training Centre work together? The services being written about cater to the diverse range of afflictions among the mass of British Columbians seeking sustainable employment in their chosen field. We, as a collective within society, want to move past the word ‘disabled’. The Ageism of our senior years, to work beyond age 65. Where do you want to work? What do you want to do? Start by upgrading your resume, if you foresee a job in your future. Have a master copy to draw info from, and develop one as a base to draw info from for ‘targeted resumes’. That was information from a WorkBC counsellor. The services mentioned in the previous paragraph even support self-employment and other life goals with accredited education and guidance. They cater to all, aged from 20s to mid-90s, as the oldest student of life. Information about free educational tools available online was found thanks to Work BC’s input, we’ll put those in the next paragraph. There are 2 websites we’ll focus on for free education, to pass the time, as the government eyes progress. The Prince George Library system has impressive accredited online courses (some with certificates) in diverse classes. You will need a library card to apply for the courses, which are free to members. The library also has job-finding resources as well, membership allows internet access if you are not online at home. LinkedIn is another good educational source for free education, again some are accredited with certificates. You’ll need an account for this social media feed. Each course might have the required account requirements including course length. You never stop learning, even if you start teaching. That can be a career goal at any age, providing you remain family-safe.
